San Francisco police arrested a suspect who robbed a bank today, at 245 Market at approximately 2:50 P.M. Taken into custody was James G. Grimes, of Oakland
In this incident, the suspect entered the bank and walked up to the teller. The suspect told the teller to give him all the money or else he would shoot her. The teller complied and gave the suspect money, at which point the suspect took the money and fled from the bank.
Numerous officers responded to the scene and began a search for the broadcasted description of the suspect. Some officers responded to the Transbay Terminal and searched for the suspect. As officers started their search for the suspect in the terminal, he was located. A short foot pursuit ensued, but officers were able to place suspect into custody and recover the stolen money.
Grimes was arrested for robbery and burglary of a bank
