San Francisco Police are alerting the public to a series of arson fires that have occurred intermittently over the past two months. The suspect places newspapers against a building and set them afire. There have been at least ten such reported fires, the first occurring on June 23 and the latest one on August 26. The areas struck have been Chinatown, the financial district, Russian Hill, Pacific Heights and Presidio Heights. The fires have been set between the hours of 11:30 P.M. and 6:00 A.M.
Police urge anyone who sees any suspicious activity in front of a building that could be related to this series to call police immediately.
