As part of its ongoing commitment to improving traffic safety, the San Francisco Police Department has focused on pedestrian safety to help reduce vehicular-pedestrian collisions. The SFPD Traffic Company has formed a partnership with the Department of Parking and Traffic, the Department of Public Health, the Metropolitan Transportation Agency, and advocacy groups to form the SAFE Streets Task Force. The task force aims to work collectively to address all traffic safety issues through traffic engineering, education, and enforcement.
