San Francisco Police To Participate In National Night Out

The San Francisco Police Department will again participate in the annual National Night Out event that promotes community efforts to enhance public safety. Each of the ten district police stations will coordinate district events at a location within the district, as follows:

6-7:45 PM. March around Washington Square Park/Grant Ave. Litter pick-up followed by barbecue and bocce ball at North Beach Clubhouse
Southern Gene Friend Rec Center6-8:30 PM. Street closures; provide safety tips; community 270-6th St. discussions; hot dog barbecue
BayviewMendell bet. Palou/Oakdale 6-8 PM. Talking patrol car; Canine Unit; rep fromTraffic Div.; police cadets; hot dogs and beverages
MissionTreat bet. 20th/21st sts. 5-9 PM. Live band first 2 hrs, big screen movie Second 2 hrs. (No food or alcohol vendors)
NorthernHayes Valley Playground 5-9:30 PM. Community safety fair; youth Family activities; barbecue and entertainment
Park Ernest Ingold Clubhouse Boys and Girls Club of SF 6-9:30 PM. Barbecue; kids' games; basketballgames between officers and older youths, kickball younger kids; prizes
Richmond Anza mini-park behind Station6-8 PM. Potluck dinner; presentation by SAFE

Ingleside Ingleside StationCommunity Room 6-9 PM. Officers to introduce neighbors to the station and its personnel and programs; Refreshments served
Taraval Sunset Neighborhood Beacon5-7 PM. Barbecue, music, raffle. Center, 3925 Noreiga at 46th Guest speakers include Supervisor Ma and SNBC Director Michael Funk
Tenderloin Tenderloin Rec Center, 570 Ellis 6-8 PM. Hot dogs and soda; music fromCommunity band; Officer Steve Lee will give Safety courses and repairs for bicycles; Glide and St. Anthony's expected to participate
