The San Francisco Police Department and the Safety Network Program (a member of the Mayor’s Neighborhood Crime Prevention Program) will again this year sponsor National Night Out events on Tuesday, August 3 in five SFPD districts. National Night Out: America’s Night Out Against Crime is held annually on the first Tuesday of August across the country to promote neighborhood involvement to help stem crime through strengthening police-community relations and encouraging neighborhood camaraderie by hosting a number of neighborhood events. In San Francisco, events will be held in five police districts, with officers from the district police stations participating. The district events are:

Southern District. International Institute celebration at Yerba Buena Gardens Amphitheater, Folsom Street between 3rd and 4th streets, 6:00 P.M.-10:00 P.M.. Food, face painting, community safety tips and celebration, poetry reading and special outdoor showing of the film, “Monsters, Inc.,” beginning at 8:00 P.M.!
