Officers from the Tenderloin Police Station will join St. Anthony’s Dining Room, Glide Memorial Church and the Project SAFE’s Neighborhood Safety Partnership (NSP) in a youth safety parade on Wednesday, July 21, beginning at Boeddeker Park, Eddy and Jones streets, starting at 11:00 A.M. The parade will proceed on the sidewalk around the block. This is a special event for the children and youth of the Tenderloin to reclaim Boeddeker Park as a safe place for children and families.
On hand will be the SFPD Lion Dancers team, the talking police car, and the horse and canine units. There will also be a safety poster contest. Local businesses have donated food and special t-shirts.
This event demonstrates the police department’s commitment to community policing, with the police department partnering with local groups to help improve safety in the neighborhoods.
