There will be an anti-war march and rally in San Francisco on Saturday, June 5. The rally is anticipated to begin at United Nations Plaza at 11:00 A.M. Beginning at 12:30 P.M., those assembled are expected to march down Market Street to Justin Herman Plaza, across from the Ferry Building. In the march down Market, the demonstrators are anticipated to take up the sidewalk and one lane of traffic. The organizers have planned a rally at Justin Herman Plaza until about 4:00 P.M.
The police department is advising the public that the number of demonstrators anticipated will have a significant effect on traffic flow in and around the area of the protestors’ assembly, march and rally. The public can expect some street closures and restricted parking in these vicinities, as well as surface Municipal Railway vehicles rerouting, and is urged to plan accordingly.
