The 213th San Francisco Police Department Academy Class will be holding its graduation ceremony on Friday, June 1, at George Washington High School, 600-32nd Avenue,
at 6:00 P.M. There will be 39 graduates, 15 of whom will be pinned by law enforcement relatives during the traditional pinning ceremony.
The class president, embarking on his second career, is a retired PG&E employee, former SFPD reserve officer, private pilot and a grandfather.
The class also includes two graduates of the Police Department's Community Police Academy, an ongoing SFPD program in which citizens learn about the police department through lectures, demonstrations, and first-hand patrol experience.
The 213th Class began October 30, 2006. Following the graduation, the newly sworn officers will begin a 17-week field-training program at six of the Department's ten district stations.
