Subject:     San Francisco Police Seeks Witnesses in 19th Avenue Shooting

San Francisco police are seeking witnesses to a shooting that occurred on Thursday evening, May 20, at a service station at 1101 Junipero Serra Blvd., at about 6:30 P.M.  In that incident, two men were putting air into a flat tire when a gunman approached on foot and fired at them.  One bullet went astray and struck a passing motorist in the head as he drove southbound on Junipero Serra.  The injury caused him to cross into the northbound lanes, where he collided with another vehicle.  The driver, a 22-year-old male from Kansas City, Missouri, remains in critical condition.  The targeted victims were both shot in the legs and are in stable condition. The gunman fled on foot from the service station lot onto 19th Avenue and was last seen running south on the 900 block of Randolph Street.

The San Francisco Police Department Night Investigations Unit is seeking anyone who might have seen a person matching the following description:  A light-skinned black or Hispanic male, 18-25, 5’6”- 5’ 7”.  He was last seen wearing a black jacket, a puffy-style parka or mid-length overcoat with a dark-hooded sweatshirt underneath; dark-colored pants and a dark-colored beanie.  He was seen tucking a semi-automatic pistol under his waistband as he ran.

Police are also seeking witnesses who may have seen someone run or walk rapidly to a parked car and drive away; a double-parked car, occupied or unoccupied; or a car left with its engine running.
