The San Francisco Police arrested two suspects who were responsible for a series of laptop computer thefts. Five separate thefts of laptop computers were reported between March 31st through April 8th.
Most of the victims were sitting in a coffee shop typing on their laptop computers. A Latin male suspect would enter the coffee shop, grab the laptop off of the table the victim was sitting at, and run to a waiting black Honda getaway car.
Inspector Jaimerena of the SFPD Robbery Detail investigated the incidents and after several weeks was able to identify the two suspects involved. On Friday, April 24th, one of the suspects was arrested driving the getaway car. Officers served search warrants at two separate locations and arrested the second suspect. The suspects not only confessed to the thefts that Inspector Jaimerena was investigating, but admitted to additional robberies that were never reported.
Taken into custody were German Duran, 25, and Jesus Duran, 25, both San Francisco residents. The suspects were charged with multiple counts of grand theft and burglary.
