San Francisco Police Arrest Suspect In Murder Of 19 Year Old

San Francisco Police have arrested the suspect in the shooting death of Zachary Roche-Balsam, 19, that occurred on the 300 block of Victoria Street in the Ingleside District on September 16, 2006 at 2:00 AM. Taken into custody yesterday, April 9, was Vernon Anderson, Jr., 21, of San Francisco. Through investigative leads, police Homicide inspectors were able to identify Anderson, who was arrested at Hawes Street and Quesada Avenue at about 12:30 PM. Vernon has been charged with murder and robbery and remains in custody. Other suspects in this incident remain at large.

A $100,000 reward authorized by the Mayor's Office for information leading to the identification and prosecution of the suspects in this incident remains in effect.
