San Francisco police are seeking the public's help in a homicide that occurred on November 29, 2008 in Golden Gate Park at approximately 11:00 P.M. A large group of young men and women were attending an outdoor party, which had been promoted on the Internet and by word of mouth, at the horseshoe pit near Conservatory Drive on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The victim, Brandon Lee Evans, 20, who was attending the party, was shot when he went to retrieve something from his car parked nearby. He managed to return to the site of the party, where he collapsed.
Because of the location and time of the incident, police know that there are witnesses who observed the incident or who have some information regarding the incident that would be helpful to investigators. The Mayor's Office has authorized a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect(s) responsible for Mr. Evan's death. The reward Crime Bulletin,
