San Francisco Police are seeking the public’s help in locating the driver in a hit and run collision that occurred yesterday, February 22, on

Brannan Street
between 5th and 6th streets at about 11:50 A.M.  In that incident, the victim, an adult male, was walking southbound mid-block across Brannan to get to a parking lot.  As he was crossing the street, the driver of a red Chevrolet Camaro with a black top struck him.  The driver was last seen fleeing eastbound on Brannan, then south onto
5th Street
.  The victim suffered life-threatening injuries.  There is currently no description of the driver.

A surveillance camera in the area captured the suspect vehicle on film after the collision, and photographs are available from the Public Affairs Office and on the SFPD Web site, sfgov.org/police.

It is to be noted that, as a result of the collision, the suspect vehicle’s windshield was smashed.  Auto and glass repair shop personnel should contact police if someone requests a windshield repair on a red Camaro with a black top.

Anyone who sees the suspect vehicle, or who has any information regarding this incident, is urged to contact the Hit and Run Section, 553-9516, or to call the Confidential Tip Line, 415-575-4444.
