San Francisco Police arrested a suspect shortly after a street robbery that occurred yesterday, Wednesday, February 6, 2008, on the 2700 block of San Bruno Avenue near Bacon Street at approximately 8:15 P.M. Taken into custody was a 17 year old juvenile, of San Francisco. The victim, a male, 67, of San Francisco, was transported to St. Francis Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The victim fell after a violent struggle during the commission of the robbery.
Bayview Station officers were driving on San Bruno Avenue near Bacon Street when they were flagged down by a concerned citizen who said: An Asian man was just robbed. The concerned citizen pointed to an Asian male, bleeding badly from the back of his head. Numerous Bayview Station officers converged near the scene, spotted the fleeing vehicle and engaged in a short pursuit. The suspect drove up onto the railroad tracks at 7th Street and 16th Streets, where his vehicle was disabled by the rough terrain. The suspect was arrested.
The suspect was charged with robbery, aggravated assault, and possession of stolen property. He remains in custody.

Investigators in the tiger attack that occurred at the San Francisco Zoo on December 25 have suspended the investigation pending new witnesses being interviewed and/or new evidence being produced.
