Last Wednesday, January 31, San Francisco Police arrested two suspects in connection with a brazen early evening robbery of a Starbucks café in the Fisherman's Wharf area.
Just before 6:00 P.M., two suspects went into Starbucks at 499 Bay Street. One of the suspects, armed with what victims later described as a 12 knife, ordered the employees to lie on the floor. The suspects then forced the employees to open two cash registers, which they quickly emptied.
Customers who were inside left, called police and provided the responding officers with detailed descriptions of the suspects. Officers from Central Station acted swiftly and detained one of the suspects at Bay and Powell streets and the other in the Fisherman's Wharf area. Victims and witnesses identified the suspects and police took the two suspects into custody.
Booked on a variety of robbery charges were Rodney Carroll, a 34-year-old parolee from San Mateo County, and Robert Fletcher, 46, of San Francisco.
The Robbery Detail credits the outstanding work by Central Station officers, and acknowledges the timely and valuable assistance provided by the customers at Starbucks in the apprehension and arrest of these dangerous suspects.
