San Francisco Police have arrested a suspect believed responsible for 19 restaurant robberies inSan Francisco since July 2005. Taken into custody on January 14 was Gregory Garrett, 51, of San Francisco. He and an accomplice were attempting to rob a restaurant on Fourth Street when he was apprehended. The accomplice escaped. This robbery attempt followed a foiled robbery by Garrett and his accomplice earlier in the day on Golden Gate Avenue.
The robberies and attempted robberies ranged from prominent restaurants to small establishments located throughout San Francisco, but mostly in the downtown area.
Garrett remains in custody on multiple counts of robbery and attempted robbery.
