Subject: San Francisco Police Arrest Sexual Assault Suspect At Main Library

San Francisco police arrested a suspect for exposing himself to a 14-year-old girl inside the Main Library Friday afternoon, January 8. Taken into custody was Marty Jeffrey, 28. The victim contacted security, which in turn contacted police. The victim told police that Jeffrey sat next to her while she was studying and exposed himself.

During the follow-up investigation, Boston detectives, believing Jeffrey was in the San Francisco area, contacted the San Francisco Police Department requesting help in locating Jeffrey, who was wanted for a similar incident at a transit station in Boston last September. Learning that Jeffrey was in custody, Boston obtained a warrant. Jeffrey, charged with committing a lewd act against a child, remains in County Jail awaiting extradition.

San Francisco police urge that anyone who may have been a victim of this suspect, who is an African-American, 6’, 150 lbs., to contact police, or anyone who may have been the victim of any sexual assault, to report the incident immediately.
