Subject: San Francisco Police Arrest Suspect In Cab Driver Robbery And AssaultSan Francisco police arrested the suspect in a brutal cab driver robbery and stabbing that occurred on January 11 on the 200 block of States Street shortly after 7:00 P.M. Taken into custody early this morning was Bruce Griffin, 26, of Pittsburg, California. He was arrested at Post and Larkin streets at 1:40 A.M. Investigative leads and a citywide search by officers from all the district stations based on a description of the suspect led to his arrest. Griffin was taken into custody without incident.
Griffin was charged with robbery and attempted homicide. He remains in custody. Griffin was on parole for another cab driver robbery that occurred on January 24, 2003.
The San Francisco Police Department expresses its gratitude to the many citizens who came to the aid of the victim after the attack and who provided valuable information to police that helped in Griffin’s apprehension.
