Subject: Police Seek Witnesses In Mission District Stabbing

San Francisco Police are looking for witnesses to a brutal stabbing that occurred on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 on Mission at 17th streets at approximately 2:00 A.M. In that incident, the victim, a San Francisco Hispanic male, 22, had just left work and was walking home southbound on Mission when two vehicles with Hispanic occupants slowed as he was walking. Feeling threatened, the victim began to run. As many as five Hispanic males then jumped out of the two cars, chased and caught the victim, stabbing him multiple times in the back, side, and leg. During the stabbing, the victim was eviscerated. The victim was rushed to San Francisco General Hospital, where his injuries are now considered non-life-threatening.

The suspects are described as Hispanic males in their late teens to early 20s. They were wearing black baseball caps, black sweaters and baggie pants. The cars involved were older models, one of them possibly red.
